U14s Burton Rugby Football Club

Burton U14s visited Ashby on Sunday. The Ashby game is always one of the most challenging games during the year and proved so yet again.
However, this time the U14s showed a lot more desire and determination. For the first 10 minutes we played some of our best rugby of the season, with good ball retention, strong defence and variation of play in attack.
Ashby began to find their rhythm as the half progressed and led 17-0 at half time. In to the second half, the pitch got heavier, preventing our speed merchants from finding the space they normally enjoy. The team continued to perform well and there was some great last gasp tap-tackling from Dan Burns to save certain tries. The scrum was also very solid on the day.
A special mention to the front row of Jack, Leo and Dru, who very much held their own against a good Ashby pack.
Final score was 45-0 to Ashby. This was a much improved performance compared to the last time and provides plenty of hope for the future.
