Burton 40-40 Stafford
The first game saw defensive slips and missed tags from both sides. On a brighter note the attacking and support play from Burton showed much improvement, started by an impressive run by Mumford, which was finished by Spendlove. Mumford continued to be the playmaker with Spendlove showing good support to pick up another two trys. With the match tied at half time it was Jones who showed good ball handling skills to touch down despite being tripped early in the second half. Another solid show from Sturman saw him score in the second half, befrore going off due to a nasty clash of heads. Further scores by a smiling Summers and Callow saw an exciting first game end tied.
Burton 10-5 Stafford
The second game was all about a storng Burton defense, with Brown and Tolley showing good defensive skills. The attack, however, showed a few ball handling skills and this kept it a close game. With wave after wave of Stafford attack Burton showed great heart not to roll over, brown was impressive, continually tagging one after another, to finally pick up loose ball and release Tolley for a superb opening try. Another good piece of ball handling by Burton saw Mciver power over for the winning score.
Burton 25-25 Stafford
Burton started well again showing good ball handling skills, and quickely pulled two scores in front, with trys from Jones and Callow. However, a few lapses in defence saw an unusual style of attack by Stafford pay off, and they were soon in the lead. But with some powerfull running from all the young Crofters, they were soon back in the game. A hat-trick of trys for Mumford saw another exciting game end a draw.
Burton 25- 15 Stafford
In the final game Burton came out all guns blazing, and a rock solid defence produced a good platform to attack. The Stafford defense however was equally as good, but good ball retention from the Crofters saw them finally get a deserved score with Richards touching down. The first half scoring was completed by Blackham, who took the ball on the halfway line to run a straight line and then side step a couple of defenders to touch down. The second half saw the oppenents get back into game, only for the Crofters to step up a gear and more impressive attacking work saw trys for Sturman, Harrison and
