Darley Dale V BJFC Predators U13's

After a close call between these two teams the week previous, everyone from Buxton was hoping for a taste of revenge in the cup. However upon this boggy pitch, which is in desperate need of being acquainted with a lawn mower the lads from Buxton were set to be disappointed. Straight from the kick off Darley looked the brighter of the two teams and really took the game to Buxton and it wasn't long before they had a foot in front. With Buxton working tirelessly but struggling to make an impact Darley soon doubled their lead and it was only some fine saves from Billy which held them to just 2 for as long as we did. Shortly after Darley had a third there was a spark of hope for Buxton after Jaedon who chased relentlessly upfront front all game squeezed a ball through to Archie inside the Darley box, which he directed goal wards and it somehow crept over the line.This brought some renewed life to Buxton and even though they conceded a fourth before the interval they were looking a more determined side.
Following the break it was still Darley Dale who dominated the play but the Predators were now making them work for it, Man of the Match Dominic was looking solid at the back along side Ross and Cole and the Buxton boys only need a goal to get back in this game. However fate was not on our side as midway through the half Darley added a fifth. Buxton worked and fought until the end with Xander, Nick and Kenzie all battling a very physical Darley midfield but couldn't stop a sixth after a fine solo run brought the score to its finale of 6-1. With the Buxton team disappointed they will hope for a return to form next week when the host Mansfield @Sterndale Moor.
