Heath pay the penalty.

Mendip Broadwalk 3-3 Cadbury Heath (pens 5-4)

The second round of the Frys cup saw us face Cadbury Heath of the Western League Prem.

We were back on pitch 3. The pitch we thought hindered us in the first round against Ashton & Backwell Res because of how tight it was.

It actually worked in our favour on this occasion.

We set up to catch Heath on the break. And to be fair it worked quite well.
We probably started the better of the 2 sides. And Ty McNeeley tested there keeper twice from range.
After 20 minutes Heath got it together and started passing it about with intent.
There skipper Matt Huxley got through for a 1 on 1 but chipped wide.

We took the lead on 35 minutes when a quick break saw Maggs play in Briggs who slipped in Ben Thompson on the angle. Thompson smashed a left footer which beat the keeper. 1-0.
We switched off and Heath Punished when minutes later a cross from the right was headed home by there lively number 4. 1-1.

Within minutes of the restart we retook the lead.
We got at them a few times in the opening exchanges.
Maggs & Riddock exchanged passes and Riddock got taken out well inside the box. Penalty. Maggs despatched with ease.
We contained Cadbury Heath very well. With everyone working very hard.
Unfortunately We still couldn't stop them equalising. A bit of build up play where there played through us was finished well and they were back level.
Jacob O'Donnell who came on to replace Thompson had an immediate impact.
And within minutes he restored our advantage with Maggs taking a massive slice of credit with a great assist. O'Donnell getting on the end of a Maggs cross to bundle home.

We seemed like we were going to see it out until Heath won a late series of corners and grabbed the equalised with a minute spare.!!
Straight to pens.

Maggs , Briggs , McNeeley , Talbot all scored. Cadbury Heath missed there opening penalty. And Jacob O'Donnel slotted home the decisive 5th penalty to see us through.
