Heath Exit FA Cup

The Heath’s FA Cup dreams were ended yesterday after a 5-1 defeat against a talented Bristol Manor Farm side infront of another healthy crowd of 176 at Springfield.
The Heath were forced to make changes due to the absence of 5 first teamers and lined up with Ollie Jones in goal with Tom Smallman at right back and Loui Ward at left back. Captain Toby Rennie was at centre half alongside new signing
Colin Mugoya-Tabingwa (ex-Mangotsfield, Cribbs and Hayes & Yeading - welcome Colin!). Liam Oswin started on the right hand side of midfield with George Boon on the left wing. Ben Wych partnered Tom Welling in central midfield. Matt Huxley partnered the Sam Crumb (first start of the season) upfront. Heath subs were Ollie Price, Simon McElroy and Mitch Hodge.
The Heath took the lead in the 22nd minute when a superb glancing header from Matt Huxley looped over the keeper into the far side of the goal for a great start. Both sides had chances before that opening goal and that continued until Bristol Manor Farm scored an equaliser on 34 mins. The visitors started to take control of the game and, critically, took the lead right on half time to make it 2-1 at the break. Further goals from the visitors in the 69th, 75th and 90th minutes saw Bristol Manor Farm run out 5-1 winners and progress to the FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round draw on Monday - good luck to them. No disgrace in the defeat to a decent Manor Farm side who will do well in the Southern League this season. The Heath are back in action this Tuesday (15th Sept) when we travel the short distance to Keynsham Town for a Western League Premier Division game, kick off is at 1945. This will be a tough game so please give the new look Heath Squad some support as we look to continue our great start to the season!
