Although the Heath are gutted at going out of this great competition we have a lot to look forward too.
Heath started the game brightly and looked the more dangerous in the opening exchanges with Jason Base coming close and Mark Reynolds having a header go close.
Joe Chandler hit a tremendous drive from all of 40 yards that left the keeper stranded only to see it crash against the crossbar and go to safety.
Falmouth always looked dangerous on the break and themselves were creating some good opportunities but Heath finished the first half stronger and were unlucky to go in at half time all-square.
The second half started with Falmouth on the front foot and within 3 minutes they took the lead with some good build up play band a great finish that gave the home keeper no chance.
With the lead Falmouth continued to push forward and were looking very dangerous but the Heath team dug in and weathered the storm, gradually getting themselves back into the game.
George Boon was continually causing problems for the Falmouth defence and it was his run and cross that gave Heath an equaliser on 74 minutes.
For the rest of normal time both teams tried to push forward and win the game but in the end there was no way through for either side.
Extra time did not disappoint, again with both teams going all out to win the game and both keepers produced good saves to keep their teams in the game.
With time running out and a trip to Cornwall next week on the cards Falmouth grabbed a winner with a well-worked move with just a minute of extra time remaining.
Well done to both clubs, it really was a pleasure to welcome Falmouth to Springfield and stage a really good game between two good sides.
We would like to wish Falmouth good luck in the next round and hopefully we will meet up again one day.
