For practically all of the first half Melksham were much the better side, they started very brightly and hit the post with a good effort after just 3 minutes.
For some reason the Heath started with just one up front and it was soon apparent that this was not working as as soon as the ball was played forward it was coming straight back and the Heath defence was under a great deal of pressure.
On 28 minutes Melksham made the breakthrough with a very well taken goal after a forward made space for himself and hit a great effort into the far corner.
Just as the Heath thought they had reached the interval with just a one goal deficit Melksham struck again after a clearance went straight to a Melksham player who rifled the ball back into the top corner to give the visitors a well deserved 2 goal cushion at half time.
The second half saw just why the Heath are at the top end of the table with a tremendous fight back that saw Melksham pinned in their own half for much of the second half.
Wave after wave of attacks saw Heath totally dominate and it was only a matter of time before they got themselves back into the game and that goal came on 63 minutes when Nick Dyer found Mark Reynolds who made no mistake from 6 yards out.
This goal prompted Heath on and once again Melksham were on the back foot, very rarely getting out of there own half.
With time running out Joe Chandler headed home to give Heath a well-deserved equaliser, and with just a little more luck they could well have gone on to win this very entertaining game.
Without doubt a game of two halves from two very good sides who put on a great display for the supporters of both sides.
