CADBURY HEATH 3-2 STREET
Heath welcomed a Street side that are tipped to do well this season to Springfield for our first game of the new season.
The Heath side starting with four new debutants started very brightly and within four minutes Heath took the lead when Matt Huxley chased down a through ball with the keeper, as the ball flew up into the air Huxley chased it again, brought it down with a great touch and curled home a superb left foot effort.
Heath continued to have the majority of possession and created some good openings that were either well saved or just off target.
Street did cause some problems at times and levelled things on 20 minutes when a defender rose highest at the far post to head home.
This set back did nothing to stop the Heath pushing forward and right on the stroke of half time that man Huxley again found space for himself to head home after good work from Jack Camm, Wayne Pearce and George Boon.
The second half had no sooner started than a great ball from Josh Bennett found Nick Dyer who made no mistake with a clever lob over the advancing keeper to give Heath a 3-1 advantage.
The game seemed to settle after this with both sides having opportunities but with defences both on top.
With time running out and the points safely in the bag Street did hit back with a last gasp goal that made the score line a little flattering for them as Heath had controlled most of this encounter.
A great first game back for the Heath although we will not get carried away as the games are going to come thick and fast and certainly not any easier.
