Street were the victors in Wednesday evenings encounter at Springfield in the Western League, winning 3-1 after a 3 goal blitz in the opening 18 minutes took them into a commanding 3-0 lead. Credit to the Heath who didn’t let theIr heads drop and continued to work hard to try and get back into the game. An excellent 2nd half strike by Liam Oswin cutting in off the right flank and driving a 20 yard effort into the far left hand corner (having been found with a great long ball from Tony Rennie) bought us back into the game in the 63rd minute. Efforts during the game by Sam Crumb (header), Ben Brooks (with an excellent free kick that hit the side netting) and George Boon (shot across goal) couldn’t be converted. Ollie Jones in the Heath goal played well again, making several excellent and brave saves to keep us in the game which more than made up for a rare handling error that unfortunately gifted Street their third goal. The Heath lined up as follows:
Ollie Jones,
Jaiden Savery (new signing, welcome Jaiden),
Loui Ward,
Tom Welling,
Ewan McMillan (new signing, welcome Ewan)
Toby Rennie (C)
Simon McElroy
Jake Thomas
Sam Crumb
