A disappointing performance saw the Rhinos knocked out of the North West Counties Cup in their opening tie

A bright start saw the Rhinos take the lead after 3 minutes when Matty Sloan collected a Brad White kick to score. The conversion was wide but the Rhinos led 4-0.

The lead was short lived however with Blackpool hitting back almost immediately with a well worked try to put them 6-4 ahead.

Despite the best efforts of Niall Anderson and Ben Connor in the middle the Scorpions were finding success down their right edge and 2 quick tries saw them race in to an 18-4 lead.

The Rhinos pushed Josh Grundy in to the centre and this steadied the ship with no further scores up til half time.

The second half continued though with the Rhinos on the back foot and some sloppy defending saw the Scorpions extend their lead to 24-4.

The next try would be crucial and it came Cadishead's way as captain Brad White broke the line to score but was wide with the conversion.

Any hopes of a comeback were dashed on 62 minutes with another Blackpool try putting them 30-8 ahead.

A late rally saw the Rhinos play their best rugby of the match and were rewarded with a consolation try from Joe Kelly converted by Brad White.
