Saturday saw a busy day at Victory Park. Club opened up for the magnificent England display with a strong contingent there to welcome Hornets MAR team.
An entertaining game in the pouring rain showed both sides grit and determination to play the game in true rugby spirit, an end to end affair had 30 plus players enjoy the wide open spaces at Victory Park with the game ending in a deserved draw for both sides.
1st XV had the unenviable job of bouncing back from a bruising contest last week.
Lesser squads could capitulated but with a few stalwarts coming back into the fray Cainy took the game to Bredon in the first half up the hill turning round on 10 points down against a well drilled and athletic side and should have had a score of their own.
Strong carries and some belief in their ability saw Cainy make in roads to only be caught on the counter attack.
Ponsford went over for two, rolling back the years to score trademark 'bullish' tries.
Bredon scored a couple more tries out wide, nothing coming through the middle!
A competitive game, played in true rugby spirit by both sides, with each side helping injured players and having a contest at the heart of the game.
The day was rounded off with our annual members Curry Quiz night and a great night had by all.
