7 GAME STREAK COMES TO AN END WITH A WIN

Boars Win Retain League Status!
It’s been a roller-coaster of a football season so far, However, Eversley without a win in 7 games
Went into Saturdays local derby 6 pointer with a strong squad and high hopes.
The game as you would expect was fast and furious from the first whistle. Both
Teams trying to establish a rhythm and authority over the other.
It was Cove who got their noses in front given a penalty in the 10th minute. 1-0
Eversley stormed back in the 17th minute and the excellent Ross McKernan scoring from close range following a near post Bradley Brown flick on. 1-1
It was Cove’s turn again and following pressure down the right flank they struck again from
Close range, retaking the lead .2-1
Eversley again showed their quality. On the front foot heading towards the end of the half,
When Nick Cooper appeared in an advance position on the edge of the box and gave the home keeper
No chance from 20 yards. 2-2 Half time came but not without incident,
Referee Hart had stern words with Bradley Brown and Cove’s effervescent right back.
Second half started brightly and Eversley were on top and very soon in front. Thanks to
Bradley Browns classy finish on 50 minutes. 2-3
Eversley then struck again 5 minutes later, through Jordan Goater finishing off a smart team move.
2-4 Eversley now in command and flying!
Cove were now getting very agitated and their right back again was unhappy with Mr Hart’s
Officiating. Having been given several chances he eventually talked himself into the book and compounded it by getting himself sent off. Now playing against the ten men, Eversley made the
Pitch wider and retained the ball, making good progress and creating more chances.
On 70 Minutes a corner from the left was powered home by the ever reliable Ryan Whyte and
That was the game done 2-5. However, there were still more twist in the story. The Home goal
Keeper got himself sent off for a deliberate handball outside his area Cove now down to nine players
And 2-5 down. More was to follow as within 5 minutes the home teams centre half decided to
Take out Jordan Goater. A straight red ensued and Cove finished the game with eight players on the pitch. Eversley deserved the win. Better all around performance. Good discipline.
