“Set your goals high, and don't stop until you get there.”
Bo Jackson - American Baseball Player.
A big welcome to all new and existing members to, another season of football with, CTYFC. This is the start of CTYFCs’ 46th season providing football for children in Surrey Heath and the surrounding areas in a fun and safe environment.
A big thanks to all the volunteers that give up their time to provide football over the coming months and for spending time registering all the players.
We have recently become a Nike Partner Club and all our teams will now be wearing Nike Playing kit. This has been a difficult exercise to complete and while there may be one or two issues still around we are clearing these up. We have been able to do this thanks to money raised at our tournament, so thanks to all who volunteered to help and also to the kind sponsorship of 3 local companies, who I would ask you show your support to if you need the services they provide.
Once again I would take the opportunity to ask everyone from players, coaches and parents to take 15 minutes to read and understand all our codes of conduct that can be accessed from the front page of our website. The content is really important and a useful reminder that we are all here to provide football that is fun to everyone involved. Also please watch the video on the FA Whistle Blowing Policy. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
The FA have stepped up their efforts to ensure everything is how it should be and that is then passed down to us to ensure we are doing our part. The club is committed to do this and we have a structure in place to carry this out. Each parent can be reassured that everything is being done to ensure the safety and enjoyment of their child.
As part of this commitment we have 2 Child Welfare Officers and hope to add to that number during the season. I am one and I am delighted to welcome Kristen Bailey as the 2nd. Kristen has completed all the necessary training over the summer and I would like to thank her for taking on this role. The club hopes to add more CWOs during the season.
Please enjoy your season, respect everyone involved in the game and take home a happy child each weekend from their football. If you would like to be involved as a volunteer then please speak to your coach or myself and we will point you in the right direction.
Remember that this is not the world cup, the coaches and referees are volunteers and that the game is being played by children.
Yours in Football
