Off to Caversham we travelled. We had drawn 2-2 at our place in a tightly fought contest and something similar was expected.
The pitch was a size of a cow field and played like one full of clay so our normal fast flowing incisive football was not order of the day. We were led by an imperious performance by our holding midfield dynamo Joe H (pictured) who protected the back 4 superbly as we built our game from the back. In a first half with very few chances it was one sweeping move saw Raj ghosting in at the back post to deliver a high quality finish right on the stroke of half time to give us the lead.
The 2nd half followed much the same pattern. The home side pushed forward and were unlucky to hit the post but truth is they really never looked like scoring. As they pushed forward we started to exploit the spaces and went close before the decisive blow was made by Liam with 5 minutes left to complete an ultimately comfortable 2-0 away victory.
