Hocking helps Camborne back to winning ways

After 2 successive defeats Camborne entertained Gorran on a humid day at Roskear, skipper Weeks elected to bat first and after a quick start Camborne found themselves 84 for 4 after 20 overs, Gorran seamer Ryan Clark taking 4-47 from his 10 over spell, openers Kevin Roberts(39) & Nick King(23) were the early run scorers. Promoted to number 5 Daniel Hocking(66) hit 10 fours boosting the innings through the middle overs, adding 78 with Liam Weeks(32). Jordan Harvey hit a quick 44 late on and good running from the late order gave Camborne a total of 277 all out of 49.1 overs. Jamie Tabb claimed a late 4 wickets.
In reply Gorran made a fast start, openers Lakeman(22) & Dixon(28) adding 56 for the first wicket from the opening 10 overs. Sam Pooley then was brought on and made some breakthroughs taking 4-42 to give Camborne some control. Dangerman Robin Kendall smashed a wobbly 35mph half volley from Nigel Endean at cover and Ryan Downing held onto the bullet comfortably. The innings then petered out although spinning T-Rex Sage Masher took 5 smart wickets for 39 to bowl Gorran out for 201 and give Camborne a welcome 20 points. Gorran overseas Isaac Jones made a patient 63.
