County Cup holders looking to strengthen squad for 2013/14 season

The 2013 Cornwall Cup Winners and South West 1 Play off Finalists Camborne will be showing their intent to push for National league rugby by recruiting quality local players during the Summer. The club who are keen to keep their talented group of players together will be doing everything they can to achieve this, but will also be adding to the squad.

The team came so close to promotion last season and are keen to improve on this by using the disappointment of that Play off defeat to motivate the team.
It's a young squad but with a lot of experience and much ambition who are hungry for success. The team have an 100% league record in 2013 winning after winning 12 South West One matches on the bounce. Their record at the home is superb with just one defeat in the past 27 league matches over 24 months at the REC.
Being successful has it's down side with other clubs targeting your players to join them. The club will possibly be losing one or two of the squad due to this, but the majority have already committed to Town for next season.
The Cherry & Whites are definately on an upward curve having reached 3 County Cup Finals (winning 2) and just missing out on a second promotion in the past 4 seasons. Crowds have also been improving at the REC in recent season with home matches averaging 300+ and a couple of attendances approaching the 500 mark.
It's not just about the 1st XV as the 2nd's have won their Cornish Merit table twice and the 3rd's three times in the past four seasons. So the whole club is buzzing at present and can't wait for the new season to commence.
The club will also be running a Ladies team for the first time ever in 2013/14 and have been recruiting players for this since the turn of the year. They are still looking to build the squad up before the season starts, detail will be on the site very soon.

The club know after a successful season they will be among the favorites for Promotion and one of the teams everyone will be looking to beat. This will make the task a difficult one, but the club are already relishing the challenge.

The squad will be starting their pre-season training programme at the end of June (date to be confirmed) and would be glad to hear from anyone who is as ambitious as they are. Contact either the Website, John Griffiths (head coach), Liam Chapple (backs coach), Michael Symons (Director of rugby) or Chris French (team secretary).
