If there were any doubt that the Reds were up for this contest this was quickly dispelled as the hosts came flying out the traps from the start and raced into a 12 - 0 lead in the opening 15 minutes.
Once the visitors finally got going they caused the Reds problems and spent long spells in the hosts 22 but were kept out by an organised and determined defence.
Eventually Redruth's resolve was broken and Camborne crashed over for a converted try on 35 minutes taking the score to 12 - 7. The hosts finished the half on top but a huge defensive effort from the Cherry & Whites forwards kept them out.
Playing with the elements in the second half Camborne started the better as their backs came more into play and it was the Reds turn to mount a rearguard action but it wasn't long before their defence was breached for a second time tying the scores at 12 - 12.
The game was end to end over the next few minutes with the defences on top. Camborne had their tails up though and playing towards their own supporters were lifted and after well over a dozen phases of play grabbed a 3rd try to go into a much deserved 12 - 19 lead into the final quarter.
To their credit Redruth wouldn't give up and with Camborne down to 14 following a yellow card finally crossed for their third try to tie the scores.
With the clock well into injury time Camborne mounted an attack moving the ball quickly out wide but unfortunately the long pass was knocked on just when it looked as though the visitors were going to snatch it at the death.
It say's a lot about how far Camborne has come over the past couple of seasons that it was Redruth who were much happier with the draw at their own ground than the Cherry & Whites.
The result means Camborne (who remain in 3rd spot 14 points ahead of their local rivals) reach the Cornwall Super Cup Final where they are likely to face Launceston.
Camborne and Redruth now have 10 days to prepare for the third match in this seasons trilogy when they face each other at the REC on Boxing Day with the Roddas Milk Cup at stake. Another large crowd is expected for this traditional Festive Cracker!
