With both teams missing some key players today's South West Premier League clash in Berkshire (which was certainly not in the South West when I went to school) promises to be an interesting contest. The form book can be thrown out of the window with game plans and tactics having to be changed, but the home sides experience of playing on their 3G pitch will still give them a big advantage.
There's no doubt though that the surface will suite players like Alex Ducker and Rhodri Mcatee, as we've seen in the past. Camborne welcome back powerful back row forward Cameron Bone who's missed the last half dozen games through injury but is now fully fit. His ball carrying ability should enable the pack to set up chances for the talented backs to exploit.
In the back line the experience of player/coach Liam Chapple at scrum half will be crucial and should give fly half Mcatee plenty of opportunities to open up the Maidenhead defence.
The team will be desperate to bring something back from their 540 mile round trip and end their 2018 league campaign on a high. You can keep up with highlights from the game on Radio Cornwall where Malcolm Tonkin will be giving regular updates.
