Last gasp penalty costs Town dear.

The one that got away.

Camborne know they should have come away with the spoils in a match where they were on the front foot for long periods
Town's pack were in excellent form as they held sway for the majority of this game, especially at scrum time.

Unfortunately a couple of errors cost the team the victory their play richly deserved.

The hosts must have thought it was going to be their day when the took a 15 point lead against the run of play inside the opening quarter.
Camborne to their credit never looked phased by this and continued to take the game to the Bridgers. Even when they had what looked a perfectly good try chalked off for a forward pass they were still undaunted. The visitors bagged a couple of well deserved penalties late in the half to cut the deficit to 15 - 6.

The introduction of Damien Cook after the break saw Town take charge with Ivybridge having no answer to the visitors dominance in the scrums and mauls.
It was only a matter of time before Camborne's pressure told and so it proved when 2 long range driving mauls in the 3rd quarter saw Town move into a deserved 15 - 20 lead.

With just 6 minutes to go Camborne's I'll discipline saw a penalty reversed and Ivy kicked to the corner. From the resultant lineout the hosts moved the ball along the line to score under the posts.

Camborne were not to be denied and pushed hard at the restart with the pack to the fore to set up a try for Jake Champion. Crucially the conversion was missed leaving Town with a slender 3 point advantage.

With one final throw of the dice Ivybridge earned a penalty for a high tackle in front of the posts which they were delighted to knock it over the crossbar to salvage an unlikely draw.

There's no match next Saturday so next up for Camborne is the BIG Cornish Derby at home to Launceston. The last time the clubs met at the REC the match was watched by a crowd of almost 900, so the club are anticipating another bumper crowd for this one.
