Ambassadors Suffer Second Heavy Defeat

Having suffered their heaviest league defeat last week, Ambassadors were looking to bounce back stronly at home to Thurlow, a team that had started the season strongly and scored 9 goals themselves the previous week.

Unfortunately Ambassadors performance was too similar to the previous week and another poor defensive team display cost the home side.

Thurlow went 6-0 up by half time. Ambassadors were unlucky not to level the scores at 1-1 when John Birch saw his volley from a corner smartly saved by the Thurlow keeper.

Despite being 6-0 down and the game as good as over, Ambassadors were determined to give a good account of themselves in the second half.

A much stronger second half performance and a string of saves from goalkeeper Michael Sexton, 2 goal line clearances from John Birch and Matt Banks, kept the final score to 8-0.

Despite the scoreline Ambassadors can take some positives from a much stronger second half performance and look to built on that next week against Cherry Hinton.
