Saturday was a frustrating day for CUP FC as both the 1sts and Reserves teams lost by narrow margins in their respective matches.
The 1st team hosted local rivals Cherry Hinton, managed by ex-Reserves manager Ben Ferguson, in the Kershaw Premier KO Cup semi-final aiming for their first final in a number years. A relatively poor performance saw CUP defeated 3 - 1, with Heron the scorer.
The Reserves travelled to Thaxted Rangers in Senior B, hoping to build on last Saturday's away draw. A fluke strike moments before half time and mismatching marking at a corner in the second half saw the hosts run out 2 - 0 winners, despite a number of good CUP chances and a decent performance from stand-in goalkeeper Cullum.
