Reserves concede 3 in final 10 minutes to lose

The Reserves suffered an agonising 5 - 4 defeat to Senior B promotion challengers Bassingbourn, squandering a 4 - 2 lead with less than 10 minutes to go.

CUP started slowly but took an early lead with Townshend finishing off a fantastic, yet simple, move down the left. The hosts then took advantage of a change in centre midfield to score twice before dominating the rest of the first half to take a lead into half time.

In the second half, CUP stepped up the performance to deservedly level through Mendes before Sousa and Townshend made it 4 - 2 after 70 minutes. A sloppy final 10 minutes of poor game management and mistakes gave Bassingbourn the chances to not only draw level, but ultimately claim the 3 points. Massive disspointment for the Reserves!

The 1st team's home match vs Linton Granta in the Kershaw Premier was postponed due to the overnight making the Cass pitch waterlogged.

Training takes place tomorrow night, 6.30pm arrival for a 6.45pm, preparing for next Saturday. The 1sts travel to West Wratting in the Kershaw Premier League KO Cup semi-final, kick off 1.45pm, while the Reserves host Newmarket Town Reserves in Senior B, kick off 2pm.
