1sts lose at neighbours Cherry Hinton; Reserves win at home

There was despair and delight for CUP FC on Saturday, as the 1sts lost and Reserves won.

Former striker Patricio scored a last winner for neighbours Cherry Hinton to defeat the 1st team 1 - 0 win. In an even match of few chances, a draw would have been a fair result, but unfortunately the hosts struck late to claim a big 3 points in the Kershaw Premier title race.

The Reserves picked up a comfortable 5 - 0 win at home to strugglers Wisbech St Mary Reserves. CUP led 1 - 0 at half time, despite a terrible first half performance, before scoring 4 in the second half. Mendes grabbed a hat-trick, while subs Hart and Shin notched one each.

Training continues tonight, from 6.45pm at the Cass, with both sides getting ready for the weekend ahead. The 1sts head up the A14 to Hemingfords United in the Prem, with the Reserves playing at home in Senior B for the sixth time in a row this time hosting Sawston Rovers.
