Only 4 matches were played in the eighth month of this season

March was the most frustrating month of 2017-18 for CUP FC as only 4 matches were played as a result of the weather, and none ended in a win.

The 1st team had 3 fixtures in March. On Saturday 10th they were defeated 3 – 2 at Hemingfords United, before picking up a point in a 2 – 2 draw at home to Lakenheath on Saturday 17th. It was a 2 – 0 defeat to title challengers West Wratting on Saturday 24th. Poor weather on Saturdays 3rd and 31st forced two postponements. CUP finished the month 8th in the Kershaw Premier table.

There was only 1 match for the Reserves in a frustrating month, which ended in a 2 – 1 loss at relegation-threatened Sawston Rovers on Saturday 24th. Snow at the start of March and heavy rain later in the month meant 3 postponements, on Saturdays 3rd, 10th and 31st. CUP dropped to 13th place in Senior B as a result of the limited action.

Notable contributions:
1. The 1sts scored 4 and conceded 3 in the month – a brace for Dan, and 1 each for Sam and Will
2. The Reserves scored 1 and conceded 2 – Ollie the sole scorer
3. There were no clean sheets for the CUP FC
4. The 1sts team racked up some disciplinary points, with Matt receiving a second yellow dismissal while Will picked up 2 yellow cards and there was 1 each for Bubba, Charlie and Nacer
5. 3 debuts were made for the 1sts, taking the total up to 30 players representing them while the Reserves have now used 36 this season
