1sts dominate in 6 - 2 win away; Reserves go down 4 - 1 at home

CUP FC 1st team started the 2018-19 season with a bang, winning their opener 6 - 2 at newly-formed Eynesbury Rovers Reserves on Tuesday night.

A brace by Gwynne and Webster finish put CUP 3 - 1 ahead at half time before Heron, Knight-Percival and Rerizani added their names to the scoresheet in the second half. An impressive performance and hopefully the start of a good run of form.

The Reserves hosted newly-promoted St Ives Rangers on Wednesday night and expected a tough test. It was a stalemate at half time with the score 0 - 0. Silly errors in the second half allowed the visitors to take a 3 - 1 lead, with St Ives controversially adding another late on to win 4 - 1. Some positives to take but lots of learning too!

There are no Cambridgeshire League matches this weekend, so both teams are in action next week, with the 1sts making the short trip to newly-promoted Bar Hill on Tuesday and the Reserves playing their first away match against last season's 1A champions West Wratting Reserves. Each match will be a 6.15 kick off.
