It was an agonising end to 2019 for the Reserves with a 4 - 2 defeat at home to Duxford United in the semi-final of the Percy Oldham Memorial Cup.
CUP fought back from a poor performance and 2 - 0 deficit at half time to make the scores level with 30 minutes left to play, courtesy of two headers by Mendes, and it looked likely that penalties would be the deciding factor. However, the visitors scored two late goals to earn their place in the final.
Frustratingly, some really good scoring chances were wasted by CUP, along with some major decisions wrongly given in favour of the opposition. But credit must go to Duxford for battling hard to grind out the victory.
The 1st team had their Kershaw Premier match postponed due to the heavy rain waterlogging Cherry Hinton's pitch.
