Press hit 8 in seventh league win

Cambridge University Press made it 7 league wins out of 7, and 8 out of 8 in total with an 8-2 win over Team Bury. Just 21 days after a hard fought game at Ram Meadow, Press expected a tough game against the passing game of the Bury scholars.
Press took the lead after just 70 seconds with captain Jack Watson firing home from Gerard Molloy’s cross. Press then extended their lead on 25 minutes with Watson securing his second of the game and fourth of the season from Lee Clift’s pass.
Press went further ahead on 41 minutes as Scott Paterson’s quick free kick allowed Lee Clift to run at the Team Bury defence and fire home.
Press boss, Graham Daniels made one change at half time, Ant Blandford replacing Lewis Whitehead.
Seven minutes in to the second half, Press were awarded free kick some 30 yards from goal following a foul on Lee Clift. Up stepped Gerard Molloy, to strike home via the post. Bury struck straight back as Press switched off from the kick off and Bury made it 4-1.
Ten minutes later Press went 5-1 ahead. Following a Molloy corner, Ross Paterson was allowed room in the box to fire home a left-foot half-volley. It took Press twenty minutes to score number six as Lee Clift ran at the Bury defence and fired home on 84 to make it 6-1. Ant Blandford made it 7 on 86 minutes, striking home from 15 yards. Hesitance in the Press defence allowed Team Bury to score a second past Phil Peachey on 89 minutes, but Press scored an eighth three minutes into stoppage time with substitute Ant Blandford chipping home from 20 yards.
