The Executive Committee met last night (17th March) to discuss the current situation and draw up an action plan.

Several important decisions were taken to safeguard the future of the rugby club, its members, stakeholders, their families as well the wider community which we would like to make you aware of.

  • The Camelot Centenary Beer Festival has been postponed with other centenary events kept under review.
  • The club luncheon on 4th April has been cancelled.
  • In order to reduce a significant portion of club overheads, the boiler will be switched off.
  • The club gym is now CLOSED to club members without the prior agreement of the Human Body Project.
  • The Bar is currently CLOSED whilst we review the situation.

Naturally, we are keeping a watching brief on the situation and will continue to update the membership. Please rest assured that should the government move to a full lock-down – then we have a plan for that too – to ensure the long-term future of rugby at Chaulden Lane.

For those of you with cold or flulike symptoms, self-isolating, in one of the higher risk groups or feeling anxious, we wish you every strength.

At times like this, we must come together and look out for one another and more information will follow about what we, as a club are doing to support the more vulnerable within our community.

In the meantime – remember, pandemics end and every storm passes!

If you do have any concerns about infection please call the NHS on 111 for advice.

Best wishes

Charles Riches
Hon. Commercial Director
