On Friday 20th March, from 6pm the bar will be selling off its stock at a 25% discount


What strange times we find ourselves in! Clearly we must all tighten our belts and we take these steps to safeguard the future of rugby in Hemel!

In view of the developing situation in the UK the decision has been taken by the Hemel Hempstead (Camelot) RUFC Executive Committee to sell off bar stock in order to avoid wastage and top up the Club coffers as we prepare to weather the coming months ahead.

Please come down to help your local rugby club in its 100th year to ensure its survival for another century!

When is this happening?

From 6pm, Friday 20th March

Where is this happening?

Members Bar and Back bar. Hemel Hempstead (Camelot) RUFC, Chaulden Lane, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 2BS.

Who is welcome?

This is open only to club members, their friends and family.

Is the bar open for a pint?

We intend to respectfully observe the governments guidelines regarding social distancing and social gatherings and so we ask that you make your purchases to take home with you. Should opportunity present itself to serve members a pint, then we will but not without compromising the established guidelines. This is entirely at our discretion and dependent on numbers and by agreement with the staff.

What is the plan?

The club holds a large stock of items for day to day consumption by the members as well as for events. Many of these would simply spoil and go to waste and, conscious of the strain on household budgets and the evident challenges in local supermarkets we would like to make these available to our members at a 25% discount.

What is available for purchase?

  • Draft Lager – Coors Light and Prava
  • Draft IPA/ Pilsner – Atlantic Ocean & Offshore
  • Draft Guinness
  • Draft bitter
  • Red/ White Wine, Prosecco and Champagne
  • Crisps / bar snacks
  • Bottled beer (available only with purchase of draft above)
  • Assorted frozen food

*Please note spirits will not be available for sale

What is the best way to transport draft beer?

We will provide as many containers as we can but you will need to bring containers with you as well. There are various options but obviously something with a lid would help! We suggest you wash out your plastic milk bottles and bring those.

How will we safeguard our staff and those on site?

We take the safeguarding and well being of our staff, members and the public extremely seriously at the best of times and under the circumstances considerable thought has been given to how we operate this sell-off. We have/ will be observing the following;

  • The bar area and surfaces have been disinfected and cleaned and will be done throughout the evening.
  • The bar area can accommodate 120+ standing. We will only be permitting 15 people in the back bar and 8 in the members bar at a time.
  • We please ask that if you are displaying any cold or flulike symptoms, that you please stay away. If you appear unwell, you will be politely asked to leave.
  • We will not be accepting cash. Card only. The minimum payment of £10 has been waived. This is to avoid contact with hands and cash.
  • Our staff will be washing their hands routinely with hand sanitiser. Some hand sanitiser will be available on site (closely guarded by big fellas!)

So there we go. That’s the plan. Please help us ensure the survival of rugby at Chaulden Lane.
