The season has started with a torrent of tries!!!!

On a spectacular Autumn Sunday Morning the rag tag fleet of cars from Camelot were abandoned around Cassiobury as there were that many teams playing the car park was full...unless you tell Fullers you have a car full of kit and then you drive in and forget the turn around and leave bit of the conversation.

The 1st half started extremely well with the first two tries being scored by Camelot...Fullers looked somewhat surprised by the speed of the Camelot players. There was then an exchange of points for the rest of the half, with Camelot forwards winning the lineout exchange and Fullers taking the Scrum honours. However Camelot backs were looking fast with great ball distribution.

Following what was a 45 minute first half, and with the Sun dropping low in the sky the ref decided that a water break was needed. This allowed a new shape Fullers to reappear, there was an splattering of county and 1st team players which put Hemel under the hammer for the 2nd half.

However this new shape Fullers did not have a one sided game as Hemel, 5 leagues below, became more determined to give the local rivals a close game. Fullers had taken the lead through some well driven balls at the heart of the defence. However Hemel rallied and the pendulum swung back to us.

In the last 5 minutes Hemel forwards kept putting their bodies into every ruck and maul, picking and driving, with the backs running at the try line. Following a series of penalties for us, Hemel were eventually able to score a deserved try. Unfortunately the conversion stuck the post and went the wrong side to leave Hemel a single conversion from a deserved draw.

Not a single poor performance by any player, however Aaron was awarded Forwards player of the game with Sam taking the backs nomination.

Fullers supplied a post game burger and drinks with many of the players remaining to bask in both the sun and the knowledge that Camelot are going to upset some big teams this year, although this may have been a loss the reality is Fullers know they were lucky...hence their parents cheering when the final kick failed to score.

The season is young but this could be a record breaking one for the team with over 100 points and 16 tries in two games
