Camelot Under-11s Bedford Festival Report
First competitive fixture of the season - first competitive debut for 3 players.
With our available player numbers depleted and x3 of the lads making their competitive debuts, our reduced size squad performed fantastically well against some strong opposition. We started well - scoring x2 tries in the first game, but it could easily have been x4 with some better finishing. The lads stepped up their performance in the 2nd match, stringing together some great passages of passing. Game 3 saw the quality of the opposition grow - and Camelot go down to an early OAs try. However, we dug deep and turned on the physicality to drive upfield and draw level just on the half-time whistle. Unfortuantely, OAs took advantage of our defensive frailties and scored the winning try just on the final whistle. Our final match saw us pitted against arguably the largest & best drilled team of the competition.
Coming out of the competition, there are some areas we need to work on, but equally the team can take some real plus points from their first performance of the season. Well done to all the 14 lads that took part.
