Camelot VS Hertford
Despite the team putting in a great effort against one of the strongest teams in the County, today’s games showed that we have still have lots of areas we need to work on to match the best of rivals especially running and passing with the ball in hand.
Game 1 started promisingly with our strongest line up matching Hertford for intensity and tries in the opening exchanges before Hertford pulled away after the break to win 5-2.We competed well in the forwards throughout but the difference was some very slick handling and running from the Hertford backs.
Game 2 showed Hertford’s strength in depth with them running in 7 unopposed tries. Only some determined last ditch tackling from Adam Jolly kept the score-line down in the first half to 4-0.The second half saw the boys compete much better but some very strong running from their fly half meant we could not bridge the gap.
Game 3 saw the improvement continue but some loose passing meant we could not get the win our efforts over the day deserved and Hertford ran out narrow 1-0 winners.
Players of the week were Isaac for a consistently big effort up front and George for some fantastic running in loose play.
