Youth rugby doesn’t get much better than when it is played at the home ground of Aviva Premiership leaders Saracens.
The Saracens Cup competition was played ahead of the Saracens vs London Welsh clash.
Playing on the 4G pitch of Saracens brand new home Allianz Park certainly brought the minis event into the modern arena. Tough opposition in the pool stages from Chess Valley, Maidstone and Hitchin stretched the youngsters from the start. Three straight wins, however, and wins against Blackheath in the quarter-finals, and Cheshunt in the semi-final saw the 2012 champions in the final with Barnet Elizabethans. Coming back from 3-1 down, the Camelot team secured an 8-6 win in what was described as truly heart-stopping stuff!
