Sunday saw the u8's entertain Fullarians in what was to prove a very entertaining fixture at a damp but sunny Chaulden Lane
We started by running some drills between to two sets of players, before entering into our sets of games.
Both sides had a good quota of players which enabled us to run 3 teams and have 3 games running at the same time.
Team 1 and Team 2 both turned in some excellent performances with both sides winning 2 games and drawing 1. Team 3 had a tougher time of things as a younger and slightly less experienced side, and despite coming close in all of their games, lost by the odd 1 or 2 tries.
There was certainly some exceptional play by all teams, with the tagging being the standout feature. Camelot were excellent at forcing the opposition back and, continuing the theme from Maidenhead, often forced the turnover by drawing the 7 tags.
It was also encouraging to see such great support play in attack, with runners frequently taking the ball at pace, which is incredibly difficult to defend, as Fullarians found out! A special mention must go to Alex Driver, who was exceptional with his support play and was a real standout on Sunday.
In summary, it was great to see the two squads playing fair and committed rugby. All games were played in the best spirits of the game and the Fullarians teams and coaches were a credit to their club. We look forward to locking horns again in the future!
This Sunday we have training at home at 10:00. See you all there and/or at the clubhouse on Friday night 18:30.
