Folks,
Well done and thank you to the 25 players that have so far confirmed that you will be at training tomorrow evening – there’s still a few more to check in, if that is you then please kindly respond to Ben’s messages. Numbers dictate the type of training Nick F will be running. As last week please be pitch side on the up & down by 7pm. Again, please lend a hand with the power packs, lights and water bottles.
This is a massive week for the 3rd XV!
Incredibly - we now have sufficient availability confirmed to be able to field two full squads this Saturday which is an astonishing achievement. Clearly, we can’t pile 38+ people into a single game as we are restricted to 5 subs in our matches but we felt it was extremely important that everyone had the opportunity to play some rugby, so… the plan is to field two independent sides in two separate matches with two different kick off times.
HOME 13:00 KO – Camelot Wizards will play Pinner 3rd XV (Meet 11:30)
HOME 14:30 KO – Camelot Merlins will play Chesham 3rd XV (Meet 13:15)
To ensure sufficient substitutes and player rotation and very much in the spirit of rugby, Camelot have reached out to Berkhamsted 2nd XV and invited them to be part of the Wizards– several have already accepted.
Final squad selections for each match will be confirmed following training on Thursday but it won’t shock anyone to know that training attendance and payment of subs will feature prominently in our decision making.
Chaps – the eyes are upon us now. The RFU have been invited to attend both matches. Not a single game of rugby was played in Merit 6SE last week and as such we are sticking out like a sore thumb (but in a good way). The fact that we can field an additional team & have reached out to a local club in friendship, speaks volumes about how far we have all come – well done to every single one of you for making this a reality!
Love
