If you didn't know, Doddie Weir (OBE) is a former Scottish International and British Lion, he represented Scotland some 61 times during the '90's.
At 6' 6" as you could well imagine Doddie was an excellent lineout specialist he was selected as part of the British and Irish Lions tour of South Africa in 1997. Unfortunately, whilst on the tour he suffered a horrific knee injury, as a result of foul play, while playing against Mpumalanga Province
Famously described by commentator Bill McLaren as being "On the charge like a mad giraffe", Doddie retired in 2004 and went on to become Commercial Director of Hutchinson Environmental, as well as being highly sought on the After Dinner Speaking Circuit.
In June 2017, Doddie was sadly diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), and consequently set up a foundation named 'My Name'5 Doddie'in order to raise funds for research into a cure for MND and to provide grants to people living with the condition.

We know that there is already 1 table from the Club attending, but, it would be great to get some more support.
