U8's - Woodrush v Camp Hill

...socks off and finished 20 tries – 16 tries up, winning 2 and losing 1.

The try’s were split between 5 players which in itself is very satisfying, with all players making their mark either in defence of attack.

Mackenzie top scored with 6, Oli scored with 5, Jobe, Toby and Dillon each scored 3. Sam, our newest player is coming on in leaps and bounds, with some super run and tags. Lissy, Joe and Henry all played there part too, both on and off the pitch.

Man of the Match was Mackenzie, who had the match of his rugby career! Superb support play, he put himself on the shoulder of many a speedy runner, ready to take the ball and touch it down for the try. He actually dropped one over the line and ‘scored’ another one short of the line – so it was almost 8 try’s! He was prolific with his tagging (as was Toby) and was caring and considerate when his team mates got hurt or felt frustrated.

So, I’m a very proud coach today as indeed, I know is coach Howard – who very generously refereed 2 of the 3 games.

Finally, a big thank you to Woodrush RFC and Ledbury RFC whose children, coaches and parents were generous in spirit and make the whole morning really enjoyable. All parents cheering on good play regardless of the team, the children were well mannered on the field, the coaches and referees friendly and fair. Just how rugby should be.
