Camps Run out Deserved Winners

Camp Hill U7's turned in what was probably their best performance of the season to see off Bournville in a very fast and entertaining encounter.

All 3 matches were close between the equally matched teams, but Camps edged it with a much improved defensive display which complemented their attacking endeavour. Some last ditch tagging and excellent attacking play, from Ben and Will in particular, saw Camps to victory in the first game. In fact Will’s three tries is I believe the first Hat-Trick of the season so well done to him!(actually, found out it wasn't, Joe and Jobe scored Hat Tricks against Stourbridge, but well done anyway). In the second match, a strong first half performance from Bournville was enough to secure the win though Camps did manage to draw the second half 2-2.

However, the team really did save the best until last. With the 3rd match hanging in the balance at half time with a score of 3-3, Camps played the best seven minutes of their season so far with a fine display of attacking rugby which the visiting side were unable to answer. Again and again Camps attacked with running, passing and support play which were just fantastic to watch. But for some desperate defending from Bournville there could have been a hat full of tries.

Results were:

Camp Hill 7 – 6 Bournville (Will(3), Ben(2), Aneek, Joe)
Camp Hill 3 – 6 Bournville (Aneek, Ben, Max)
Camp Hill 5 – 4 Bournville (Max(2), Will(2), Dan)

Well done to all who played. With a squad of 13 on the day, the team has a lot of strength in depth, and with some tired legs towards the end we really needed every player. It’s Hereford away next week so let’s try and carry on from where we left off in that final game.

And finally, a special mention to Aneek who scored 2 tries in his first match for the club. Well done Aneek!!

Team on the day was: Abbie, Aneek, Ben, Connor, Dan, Jacob, James, Jobe, Joe, Max, Toby, Will, Willy.

See you next week,
