The Raptors have rounded off the year with a win at the last round of the Wales Touch Series in Swansea.

The last round of the Wales Touch Series (WTS) was held on Saturday 30th August at Swansea University. The Men's and Women's competition saw teams from the Gower Dragons, Varsity Vandals and the Raptors competing against each other.

In the women's competition the Raptors first faced the Gower Dragons. The Dragons, who are new to the women's game, gave the Raptors a very good game for their first as a women's team. The Raptors had a little more experience though, and created scores for Felicity Williams, Nina Worgan, Katie O'Neill (2), and a hat trick for Siwan Gruffudd.

The final score was 7-2 to the Raptors.

Next up the women faced the well-established women's team, Varsity Vandals. The Raptors dominated in their yardage that allowed the strike players to break through and create scores for the team. Most noticeable performance was Amberley Ruck whose head-up ability to beat the defence assisted four of the scores for the Raptors. The match saw scores from nearly every member of the team; Gruffudd, Sarah Barrett (2), O'Neill, Williams, Rachel Wassermann, Amy Charley, and a hat trick for Ruck.

The final score was 10-2 to the Raptors. This score breaks a record for the Raptors with it being the first time they have scored double figures in the women's game. We are looking forward to building on this next year!

In the men's competition, the Raptors played two teams from the Gower Dragons. Up first was the youth team. The Raptors, with their vast experience in the squad, saw scores from Thomas Deveraux, Ciaran Monaghan, Rhys James, Martyn Seymour, Gareth Revell (2), and Rhys Waite who scored an impressive 4 touchdowns on his 18th birthday.
The final score was 10-3 to the Raptors.

Finally the men then faced the Gower Dragons men. Again the Raptors dominated and created scores for Andy Bloom (2), Deveraux (2), Monaghan, James, Revell, Waite, and Adam Lopez.
Final score was 9-2 to the Raptors.

The MVP's for the day were Katie O'Neill and Rhys James.

In this, the final competition of the year for the Raptors, they were crowned overall winners of the WTS. This is in addition to being TRW champions and the winners of the Wales Touch Superleague. 2014 has been the most successful year for the Raptors. We are looking forward to 2015!
