Wales Touch Series update

We have played in the first three rounds of the Wales Touch Series, and here are the results so far:

WTS round 1 - St Peters RFC, Cardiff
In the first round of the WTS, we entered our men's and women's teams. On a very hot day in Cardiff, our women's team beat the Coyotes 5-0, Kiwi Dragons 5-1, Phoenix 6-4 and Vandals 6-1. They met Phoenix again in the final and beat them 3-0. The Raptors women's performance was very impressive given the number of Wales Women's Open representatives they played against.
Our men's team beat Phoenix 8-3, Coyotes 9-6, SW Wildcats 8-0 and Gower Dragons 6-2. They played Kiwi Dragons in the final and narrowly lost out losing 7-5.

With one win and one runner up, it meant the Raptors were top of the table after round 1! MVP's were Ffion Hewlett & Louise Treyas.

WTS round 2 - Newport High School Old Boys RFC, Caerleon
We hosted this round of the Wales Touch Series, this time the mixed division. We beat Phoenix 6-3, Gower Dragons 9-3 and Coyotes 10-1. We played Phoenix in the final and came away winners after beating them 9-4.

MVP's were Katie O'Neill & Steffan Prytherch.

WTS round 3 - Ysgol Bro Teifi, Llandysul
We were back to the men's & women's divisions at round 3 in West Wales. Our women's team drew 4-4 with Kiwi Dragons, then beat Phoenix 8-2. They played the Dragons again in the final, drawing 3-3 so going to a drop off where they narrowly lost out on the win.
The men's team beat Gower Dragon's 8-1, Ysgol Bro Teifi 8-2, Camarthen Cobras 9-1 and Phoenix 5-3. Their final against Kiwi Dragons was tied 5-5 at half time, with the Raptors stepping up a gear in the second half and winning 7-5.

MVP's were Anna Melmoth & Lewis Eynon.

After three rounds we are 12 points clear at the top of the Wales Touch Series table. We have one more round (mixed) on 24th June in the Gower. Final results to follow!
