The inaugural Border City 7s festival held over Friday and Saturday, 28th & 29th June was a wonderful event that was organised and managed in fine detail by a dedicated team of volunteers headed up by Barry Earl. We them a huge debt of gratitude for all their dedication before and during the weekend. And let's not forget the hard work put in by manager Kate Johnstone and her staff who made sure that liquid refreshments were in abundance and the bars didn't run dry.

The whole event went like clockwork; teams from around the north of England and the south of Scotland put on a sparkling display of quality rugby on day of brilliant sunshine.

Thanks are due to all those who sponsored the event in whatever way, ensuring the best possible outcome. Special thanks to the two main sponsors, Thomas Graham & Sons Ltd and Lamont Pridmore.

Such was the success of the event enjoyed by around 1000 or so at the main event, dates for next year have already been pencilled in - Friday & Saturday, 26th & 27th June - make sure you get it in your diary folks.
