FA TERMINATE THE SEASON
The FA have made the decision to terminate the 2019-20 season for the leagues at steps 3-6 of the football pyramid and expunge all results.
There will be no promotion or relegation across these divisions and the planned expansion of step 4 will now not take place until 2021-22.
All statistics, including appearances, goals and results, are now erased and clubs will begin next season as if this year had never happened.
There was no easy solution to the current indefinite postponement but taking away, for example, Tyler Blake's 20 goals when we had already got to mid-March seems a somewhat draconian response to a difficult situation.
Other options, such as deciding leagues on the basis of points per game, were ruled out in order to protect the integrity of the competition.
The net result will mean next year's leagues will be made up of exactly the same teams as this year's, subject to any withdrawals and any decision as regards the placement of a re-formed Bury.
