The game was effectively over by half time as the Millers raced into a 4-0 lead. Lamin Manneh opened the scoring on 10 minutes, slotting home after a fine run by Niall Hylton.

Manneh turned provider for the second as his cross was converted by Niall Davie before Ash Chambers headed a Dean Freeman cross beyond James Wren with a minute of the half left. There was still time before the break for Manneh to get his second with a fierce drive from the edge of the box.

Chambers headed his second and Carlton's fifth early in the second half following another Hylton run and cross before Ayo Lekuti grabbed a consolation for the Royals in the last minute.

The Millers remain top of the table with 41 points from 18 games. They are six points ahead of Belper Town in second place.

They return to action on Tuesday when Anstey Nomads visit Stoke Lane.
