MILLERS WIN AT RUGBY

MILLERS WIN AT RUGBY

Alan Murphy6 Dec 2025 - 17:47

A Lamin Manneh penalty was enough to secure a valuable 1-0 win for league leaders Carlton Town away at Rugby Borough.

Niall Hylton was brought down by Jake Duffy midway through the first half and Manneh converted from the spot.

In a game of very few chances where both defences were on top, one goal was always likely to be enough and so it proved.

Linden Meikle and Johnson Gyamfi both went close for Borough whilst Sam Lomax saved from Manneh but in general the Millers defence, led by the superb Dean Freeman, always had the Rugby threat contained.

The home side's misery was complete when captain Oran Jackson was sent off for violent conduct in the last minute of added time after an altercation with Nat Watson.

Carlton now 47 points from 20 games and are eight points clear at the top of the table. They return to action next week when they travel to AFC Rushden and Diamonds.

A full report on today's game will be on site tomorrow.
