The club was launched last week to provide a regular fund to Carlton Town following the suspension of all activities (and therefore income) at Stoke Lane and the response and enthusiasm of players, coaches, officials and supporters has been superb.

We are two-thirds of the way there with 64 confirmed subscriptions and two or three more set to be formalised this evening. But that still leaves 33 or so numbers available and each one of them provides a vital lifeline to the club.

We've had supporters new and old get behind the scheme, and a number of people who can't regularly make it down to the Bill but who want the best for the club have also signed up and we can't over-emphasise just how grateful we are to all of you for donating your £10 or £20 per month to the club.

We've even had people who have no connection to Carlton Town but who have read the original article and wanted to do something to help a well-loved community club. An even bigger thank you if you are in this category of subscriber. And one well-wisher didn't want to join the scheme but donated £100 anyway. We are tremendously grateful.

But we are certain there are more of you who have an affection for this club and who want to help us at this difficult time. Most of the players have signed up (thank you) as have most of the committee (thank you too). Those of you who have yet to respond and who are able to spare £10 per month - please get in touch. Remember, there are monthly prizes of £100 / £50 / £25 and £25.

Joining is easy:

1. Set up a standing order to pay Carlton Town FC £10 per month on the 1st of each month, starting 1 April 2020. The sort code is 05-06-41 and the account number is 66678732.

2. Put "100 club + [your name]" as the reference, so the club knows who the payment if from (eg "100 club Alan Murphy")

3. When you have done this, email carltontownsc@gmail.com with your name and confirmation that you have set up the standing order. You will then be sent your draw number by return. (If you have a preference for a number between 1-100, let us know. If it hasn't already gone, you can have it!).

4. Look out for the dates of draws on both websites. The aim in normal circumstances will be to have each month's draw in the clubhouse after a home game in the middle of the month. We'll make alternative arrangements out of the football season but will aim to film each draw for Carlton Town TV.
