Ruben Wiggins-Thomas scored twice as Carlton Town came from 1-0 down to beat Bulwell 2-1 and earn a semi-final spot in the Notts Senior Cup.

The Bulls, who had won every match they'd played this season, started the brighter and opened the scoring when Conor Carter headed home Ross McCaughey's corner on nine minutes.

Martin Kearney then made a tremendous save from Nick Hawkins before Wiggins-Thomas equalised midway through the first half, beating James Wheat at the second attempt.

The Millers put their hosts under increasing pressure and only some fine saves from Wheat kept the sides level.

However, with 16 minutes to go, Wiggins-Thomas scored what turned out to be the winning goal, receiving Lee McAnulty's pass and turning superbly in the box before firing home.

Jamie Walker was sent off for Bulwell when he brought down Wes Henry in the penalty area, but Wheat continued his string of fine saves by stopping Matt Varley's penalty, and the Millers had to play out five minutes of stoppage time as the 10 man Bulls looked to force extra time.

Carlton will now face Clifton All Whites at Stoke Lane in the semi-final (date to be fixed), with the winners meeting Sutton Town or Rainworth Miners Welfare in the final.
