Back to winning ways in midweek in the County Cup, Carlton restart their league campaign this weekend on the road at Boldmere St Michaels. After almost a month of concentrating on cup competition, the Millers arrive in Sutton Coldfield with one win in three and with FA Cup and Trophy exits fresh in the mind surely the Nottinghamshire side will be looking to take three points here to catch up on the early pacesetters.
Both teams sit mid table on 10 points but the hosts have played four more games that Carlton and have had a patchy start to their league campaign. The Mikes lost their opening day fixture but registered a creditable win in the second game against Anstey and finished off August with a further win and draw. Two Freddie Cockerell goals were enough to produce a come from behind victory in midweek against bottom side Bedworth in their solitary win in September so far. The Mikes finished sixth bottom in the league last year but a comfortable 12 points from the drop and will doubtless be seeking an improvement this term.
Goals for Ollie Clark and Niall Hylton as well as a brace for Liam Moran in the midweek win should carry the confidence into this game as the Millers look to turn games in hand to points on the board.
