Carlton kept their mini unbeaten run going at the weekend but were left somewhat frustrated in the 0-0 draw against Wellingborough Town. That said the Millers have seven points from nine and are fourth in the league table which, for now at least, keeps them aligned to pre season aspirations to be competing at the top end of the division. In their second home game four days, Carlton welcome Shepshed Dynamo to the Bill Stokeld.
Shepshed faced off against the other form side alongside themselves at the weekend but fell short against Anstey Nomads who ran out 1-0 winners. That blip aside Dynamo are in good form generally and the 5-1 thrashing by Corby a few weeks ago really does look like a one off. They are seemingly happier on home turf with a 50% win record there but with only two wins from five games on the road, Carlton should be marginal favourites but the Millers home form hasn’t really hit the straps yet so it’s a fine margin. Jude Collins has four goals in the last four games for the visitors.
Carlton continue their revival after their own thrashing a few weeks ago at the hands of RC Warwick and its the miserly defence which allows their progression. Only two teams have conceded fewer in the league which given that the Millers are without both first choice centre backs is testament to the team ethic to defend from the front. That will be tested again here and its another game too close to call.
