Carlton hit the road again after taking four points from back to back home games and travel to The Oval, home of Bedworth United.
The Greenbacks are happier on home turf with their only two leagues wins so far this year coming in CV10. Both wins were in the last four games which represented a mini revival to the side adrift at the bottom of the table but although the gap to others has closed, damaging back to back away losses against Long Eaton and, on Monday, Coleshill have halted upward progress. Most frustrating of all was that both recent 1-0 defeats occurred in stoppage time of the respective games. At the heart of the issue for Bedworth aside from the away form is lack of goals. They’ve scored the fewest in the division.
Carlton, despite the loftier position in the league don’t score many more than their hosts. Unlike their opposition though, the Millers are more than happy away from home. Four wins and a draw from their six contests this year is a return only bettered by two sides. Lamin Manneh and Niall Hylton netted in the midweek win against Shepshed. The teams last met in the 21/22 season. Carlton bested the Greenbacks in the home league game and on penalties in the FA Trophy whilst a 0-0 draw was played out in the December of ‘21 at this weekend’s venue.
