Carlton’s next scheduled home game is shaping up to be another real test as the Millers welcome Anstey Nomads to the Bill Stokeld.
This fixture was rescheduled due to the Nomads excellent progress in the FA Trophy. They are still in the competition at the Third round proper with a trip to Hartlepool on the horizon. The Trophy run has included some hefty scalps of higher league opposition including Bedford Town in the last round and the confidence must surely be bubbling among the visiting side and their supporters alike. A fantastic advert for themselves and step 4 football.
In the league Anstey are in a good position with games in hand thanks to their Trophy exploits and a postponement at the weekend against Coleshill. Sitting fourth currently a win here would move them level with Belper in second. Anstey boast the meanest defence in the division which is vital to their current standing as they don’t score many at the other end with fifteen sides having netted more but, those games in hand will likely improve those ratings in time for the Nomads.
This is a meeting of the league’s form sides. Anstey arrive on a five game winning run whilst Carlton won again at the weekend, their eighth win in the last ten matches, a thumping 5-1 home victory against Sutton Coldfield. The Millers are six points clear at the top of the table in the early exchanges. Only RC Warwick have now scored more goals than Carlton this season and the Millers are mean at the back with only the visitors and Belper having conceded fewer.
